Flims Forum 2026

Outer Landscapes. Inner Landscapes.

October 1–3, 2026 | Elm & Flims, Switzerland

Join us for three days and two nights in the Swiss Alps as we explore some of Eastern Switzerland's most remarkable outer landscapes while reflecting on our own inner landscapes.

Through mountains, forests, rivers, poetry, guided reflection, meaningful discussion, and inspiring presentations, participants will be invited to slow down and do the important work of looking within. Together, we will explore how the landscapes of our lives—the people who have shaped us, the experiences we've lived, the joys we've celebrated, and the struggles we've endured—have formed who we are today.

It's time to flex that often-neglected muscle of self-reflection while immersing ourselves in the breathtaking beauty of Switzerland's alpine landscapes. As we journey through some of the country's most spectacular natural settings, we will also explore the inner landscapes of our hearts, minds, and souls.

The aim is for you to leave feeling refreshed and renewed, with a greater realization that the power to navigate this increasingly challenging world comes from within. You will leave with concrete ways to tend to and beautify your inner landscape.

10 Reasons to Join Us at the Flims Forum 2026

1. The People

The Flims Forum brings together an extraordinary group of thoughtful, accomplished, and purpose-driven people—not simply to listen to presentations, but to walk, eat, explore, reflect, and talk together.

The people and relationships may ultimately be what you remember most.

2. Begin the Forum by Watching the Sun Shine Through a Hole in the Mountain Range Directly Onto a Church Below!

We're starting the Flims Forum with something extraordinary.

On the morning of October 1, we'll gather in Elm to witness one of Switzerland's little-known natural wonders: Martinsloch — Martin's Hole.

Twice a year, the rising sun shines through the hole in the mountain range and directly down onto the church in the village of Elm below. One of those rare moments happens on October 1—and we've purposely made it the first experience we'll share together.

Legend says St. Martin created the opening during a confrontation with a giant, striking the mountain and creating the enormous hole.

Weather permitting, we'll be there to see it.

3. Experience the Extraordinary Flims Valley

From turquoise lakes to rushing mountain streams, forests, gorges, and Alpine peaks, Flims is a landscape made for inspiration and for exploring.

We'll experience Lake Cauma, the spectacular Rhine Gorge, and parts of the award-winning Trutg dil Flem, a beautiful trail that follows the wild Flem mountain stream and crosses seven remarkable bridges.

Lake. Forest. River. Gorge. High Alps.

4. Slow Down, Reflect, and Look Within

The Forum isn't only about exploring the landscape around us. It's about exploring our inner landscape.

For three days, we'll step away from everyday routines and create space to slow down, reflect, have deeper conversations, and consider what we want the next chapters of our lives to look like.

“What we achieve inwardly will change outer reality.”
— Plutarch

Sometimes changing the landscape around us begins by looking at the landscape within us.

5. Stand Where the Alps Tell Their Story

We'll ride the FlemXpress high into the mountains and experience the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona.

Here, older rock was pushed over much younger rock during the formation of the Alps—and you can actually see the evidence written across the mountains.

It's one of the world's great geological landscapes, reached aboard an innovative gondola system that will carry us from Flims high into the Alpine landscape.

6. Walk Through Switzerland's Grand Canyon

The Rhine Gorge is one of Switzerland's most dramatic landscapes: the Rhine winding beneath immense white cliffs in a wild Alpine gorge.

We'll experience this extraordinary landscape from within—not simply look down on it from above.

7. Visit Anita and Tal's Mountain Hut

We'll ride into the mountains for a private visit to Tal and Anita's newly restored 206-year-old mountain hut.

There, surrounded by the Flims landscape, we'll share regional mountain cheeses and traditional dried meats along with their homemade elderberry drink—a taste of simple Alpine hospitality in a place most visitors would never have the opportunity to experience.

We'll also meet other Flims locals, bake bread in a 200-year-old wood-fired oven, and discover traditional Swiss antique furniture.

It's a chance to experience Flims not simply as visitors, but as guests.

8. It's Balloon Week in Flims!

The Flims Forum happens during International Alpine Balloon Week Flims.

Weather permitting, colourful hot-air balloons will take to the skies above the valley. We'll even have the option of experiencing the spectacular evening "Night Glow."

Autumn forests. Alpine peaks. Hot-air balloons overhead. It's a pretty special time to be in Flims.

9. Stay at the Award-Winning Me and All Hotel Flims by Hyatt

For two nights, the award-winning Me and All Hotel Flims by Hyatt will become our Forum home.

Its location in the heart of Flims makes it the perfect base for exploring the valley, enjoying the spa or fitness room, and continuing conversations between Forum experiences.

A coffee, a drink, or an unexpected conversation may become one of the most memorable parts of the Forum.

10. The Food!

There's a good story behind every traditional dish—and the Grisons, Switzerland's largest canton, has plenty of delicious stories to tell.

Älplermagronen is classic Swiss Alpine comfort food: macaroni, potatoes, cheese and cream, topped with crispy onions and traditionally served with apple sauce.

Capuns are a true Grisons speciality: Swiss chard leaves wrapped around a savoury spätzle-style filling with herbs and other ingredients.

We'll experience regional food throughout the Forum—from traditional Swiss dishes to mountain cheeses, dried meats, fresh village bread, and local specialities.
